All The Range
July 14, 2006
I’m looking forward to this weekend, it’s bound to be buckets of fun what with my cousins all coming down from way up there. It’s going to be so funny, when we all get together it’s like a five day drinking party. What can I say? We’re Irish. Just ask Karen to tell the story. If the adults are drunk enough, sometimes they’ll let Kate and I in on the fun. And if not, it’s always fun to watch them make fools of themselves.
Like boxing day last year, when Shannon was feeling really good and she kept playing “her and Nelson’s” song over and over again and saying “I LOVE YOU BABY” and singing. That was funny. And then Karen would join in and confess her undying love for Daren, which only slightly dims when around Kevin the Blockbuster guy (sorry…inside joke. Karen probably doesn’t even remember Kevin, but the poor kid is still madly in love with her). We play pool and I always lose cause I can’t play it right.
This time is bound to be more entertaining for me, if Reaper even shows up. It’s going to be really interesting seeing the family’s reaction to him. He sorta looks like a punk bad-ass (what with the mohawk that he said he’d shave off before Saturday but probably won’t get around to it) but he’s actually more polite then that “clean cut boy” I dated last. How very wrong my mother was. How very wrong I was. Clean cut boys suck. It’s a package for disaster.
But yes, I don’t think my grandmas ever seen a Mohawk, much less had a granddaughter who brought a boy with a Mohawk home. Usually we date, er, preps. Not really preps, but “clean cut boys”. However all the clean cut boys I know are either complete sneaky assholes or gay. Either way, that doesn’t sit to well with me.
I’m hoping by tomorrow my feet will stop hurting. Wonderland really is a painful experience on one’s feet, but no lines was totally worth being soaked by the rain. Except now I’m not really convinced that’s true…because the floor hurts my feet to walk on. Stupid floor.
My extended family should arrive in three hours or so…I think. I don’t know when they left. So I will blog later about all the funny stupid things Karen says and does, unless of course I am aloud to get drunk and then I say and do stupid things that Karen could blog about.
